Video of the area where TEDxAlAin is taking place
I don't know how useful this really is, but I've posted this video anyway! :) You may not be able to make out the two towers of the Al Jimi Mall – but they're right behind the three traffic lights on the right side of the video.
To the east you'll see the Al Massa Hotel and flamingo roundabout. These landmarks should help you get to the venue more easily. I'll post a link to various maps within 24 hours. YouTube video of 4 of the speakers
Here's a video showing 4 of our speakers... * Haif Zamzam (nominated to be one of Ahlan magazine's 100 people to follow in 2011),* Mohammed Saeed Al Neyadi (Executive Director of Strategic Planning and Performance Management at the Department of Municipal Affairs, Al Ain Municipality)
* Chris Payne * Dr Nikolaos Mavridis (well known for his "Ibn Sina" robot: the first Arabic-speaking human-like humanoid) We hope to put up short videos of more of them before the end of Friday. THE OUTSIDE OF THE VENUE AS OF THIS MORNING, THURSDAY
Here's a youtube video which shows you what the conference building looks like as of this morning, Thursday, May 05, 2011.
Do use your Facebook and Twitter accounts to let your friends know about this event – there are still some places left, but they'll need to sign up as soon as possible to guarantee a seat! Photo of the outside of the venue
Here's a photo of the outside of the theatre. Doesn't this banner look fab!
I can't wait to take photos of all the flags that Sajjad has organised to be put up on the route to the venue!! The outside of the venue as of this morning
Here's a youtube video which shows you what the conference building looks like as of this morning, Wednesday, May 04, 2011.
My camera cut off the first couple of words I said – but you should be able to understand what I'm talking about! More videos to follow! And finally, use your Facebook and Twitter accounts to let your friends know about this event – there are still some places left, but they'll need to sign up as soon as possible to guarantee a seat! Introducing Mohammed Al-Neyadi
Mohammed Al-Neyadi is our first speaker of the day at TEDxAlAin.He is Executive Director of Strategic Planning and Performance Management at the Department of Municipal Affairs, Al Ain Municipality.
He and his team at the Municipality have an inspiring vision for Al Ain, so Sajjad and I were thrilled when he agreed to speak at our event. If you dig out Issue 3 of Oasis Living, if you have kept your copy, or you go to the Oasis Living website, you'll see this double page article on him and the future developments in Al Ain. I'll add more about him to this post over the next 24 hours. |
